About The Unmasking Guy

Proud Late-Diagnosed Neurodivergent Adult

I’m Mark, a late-identified AuDHDer, certified coach, and facilitator for neurodivergent adults ready to unmask and live authentically.

I was diagnosed with both autism and ADHD at 48, and that discovery changed everything. Like many late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults I spent decades masking, over-adapting, and wondering why life always felt just out of sync. My diagnosis wasn’t the end of a story. It was the beginning of my return to myself. Today, I combine lived experience with deep professional expertise to support others on their unmasking journey.

Credentials & Professional Background

I offer a unique blend of evidence-based coaching, trauma-informed insight, and more than 20 years of experience in human-centered performance improvement. For the past 15 years, I’ve worked remotely with clients worldwide from my home office in Mexico. I've earned the Associate Professional in Talent Development certification (Association for Talent Development) as well as a Master of Arts in Human Performance Improvement (Roosevelt University). I’m also a Certified Autism Specialist (IBCCES), a Master Certified Professional Coach (Certified Life Coach Institute), and a member in good standing of the International Coaching Federation.

I specialize in:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Coaching (ACC)
  • Neurodivergent identity integration
  • Values-based behavior change
  • Burnout recovery and boundary-setting
  • Natural pattern recognition for sustainable growth
  • Virtual classroom instruction and facilitation

I use the same coaching framework and SAFE Unmasking™ processes in my own life that I now offer to clients. Everything I share has been lived, tested, and adapted for the complex, beautiful realities of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world.

Facilitation and Coaching Approach

My work is grounded in the belief that you don’t need to be “fixed.” You need to be seen, heard, and supported as you reconnect with the parts of yourself you hid to survive. I take a trauma-informed, compassionate, and neurodivergent-affirming approach that honors each person’s lived experiences. Together, we explore your patterns, strengths, and history not as flaws, but as information that can guide healing and alignment.

This process isn’t about pushing productivity or perfection. It’s about cultivating self-compassion, resilience, and a life that feels true to you.

How I Show Up Here and Everywhere Else

Online, I talk openly about late-diagnosed autism, masking, unmasking, and the messy, meaningful work of becoming your real self. My social feeds are a blend of lived experience, practical insights, and gentle nudges of encouragement for people on similar journeys.

I’ve been living in Mexico for over fifteen years with my husband and our cats, who run the place. When I’m not diving into social-science or design fascinations, I’m cooking, gardening, reading the news, going down YouTube rabbit holes, or relaxing on my patio under my disco ball.
